Fleet Service Technician

Working independently, the Fleet Service Technician will intake service tickets to repair, monitor and service all vehicles that come into the fleet center. Embodies IOOGA (Integrity, Our People, Our Customers, Growth and Attitude).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly inspect vehicles for necessary repairs and regular maintenance.
  • Complete brakes, alignments, maintenance, struts, fluid changes, coolant flushes and other service/maintenance related tasks.
  • Utilize computer-based applications for automotive related information.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Install new products, and test them to ensure they are working correctly.
  • Diagnose vehicle maintenance concerns, and utilize best practices to repair customer vehicles following Discount Tire safety standards.
  • Order, maintain, return and manage inventory to follow 5S guidelines.
  • Maintain Discount Tire's Customer Experience Strategy through all interactions with customers. This includes educating customers on service recommendations and managing escalations when appropriate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Fleet customers. Ask open-ended questions, listen to your customers, observe vehicle and equipment specifics, learn about their business.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Inform customers of when their vehicle will be completed and validate that no other items are needed.
  • Complete work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the shop is necessary; must be able to clearly verbally articulate ideas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • ASE Certified A5 & A6 preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time auto repair and diagnosis.
  • Driving record that is acceptable for our insurance.
  • Knowledge of Domestic and Imports.
  • Must be capable of understanding both written and verbal instructions, possess the ability to learn, read and comprehend labels, work orders, and able to read and understand numbers on a tire.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and accurately meet deadlines is essential.
  • Ability to teach, coach and train other team members in mechanical services is essential.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.

Work Days

Normal work days are Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays and Sundays may be necessary.

Work Hours

Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be necessary.
