Discount Tire OmniPOS Development Intern
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Duration: 10-12 weeks (Summer 2026)

This internship will be responsible for executing the role of software developer level1 during their internship. The project, "Vision," aims to improve Discount Tire's point of sale system and overall, in-store experience. This project is strategically aligned with Discount Tire's commitment to delivering top-notch customer experiences. As a Discount Tire Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals and gain practical experience in a fast-paced, fun, and challenging environment. You will have access to senior leadership and visibility to multiple facets of the business of Information Technology, with a program mission of “providing high potential students’ knowledge and experience to guide them in future career decisions.” Additional program specific activities will provide team building opportunities and the requirement to present to senior leaders within the IT business segments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create documentation for each step of theSDLC
- Implement automation wherever applicable within the entire SDLC process
- Deliver at least 1 Jira story (XS-size)
- Regular progress reports and documentation
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming languages (Java, JavaScript, SQL)
- Experience in implementing a software project in school.
- AI knowledge
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Understanding concepts of SDLC and ITSM
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Only Junior or Senior-level students or May 2026 graduates are eligible.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software systems.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
